With the first true cold snap since Christmas on tap for Friday and Saturday, there are a lot of questions about how that will affect the fishing. The relatively stable weather we’ve had over the past seven days has come with a slow-down for many fisheries, including Cape Cod trout fishing and holdover stripers in Rhode Island and Connecticut, although the Boston area bass did seem to perk up with the big rains last week. The extended forecast does show, yet another, warmup starting on Monday… so the temperature rollercoaster will continue. The most reliable fishing in the region right now is for those Sebago salmon that were stocked last month all over the Ocean State, give them a try to get your fix.
