You’d think a week with temps rarely climbing into the 20s would make it tough to collect fishing reports. That couldn’t be further from the truth up here in New England. With most small and medium bodies of water covered with safe ice, there’s been a boom in ice fishermen, and a result of that, there’s been an explosion in ice catches; panfish, pike, largemouth bass, trout, pickerel even a pure strain musky… Pretty much if it swims in freshwater, they’re being caught through the ice. One item of note, it was announced last night that Rhode Island’s winter trout and salmon stocking discussed in this video has been delayed slightly because of the frigid temps, we’ll keep you updated. Until then, get out on the ice and catch some fish!
