The Fisherman Magazine Weekend Video Forecast 7/1/2021 – New England
Striper fishing seems to be falling into a summer pattern this week and these resident stripers are biting well in their “new homes”. Fish into the 50-pound class are taking eels and chunks from Connecticut to Rhody, with some solid fish to 30 pounds off the Cape and bass to 40 pounds in and around Boston. School bluefins are drawing big attention from offshore anglers and, on the good weather days, sick leave is being burned at a record pace! Try areas around The Claw and Coxes Ledge to cash in on these welterweight tunas. Fluke fishing has turned on in Rhody, the Nantucket Shoals continue to crank out doormats by the bushel and Montauk is firing up as well. Like the weather, fishing has been hot across the region. Here’s to hoping for some fishy fireworks on your Fourth of July weekend!
