The First Albies Arrive!

Yes that’s right, the first albies of the season have arrived in Nantucket Sound: confirmation that the summer is already half over. The “nearshore” tuna bite, within sight of the windmills, is firing up again and there have even been some yellowfin in the mix there. Striper action has been best off Monomoy or inside the Cape Cod Canal. We’re also seeing the first wave of other exotic species in Rhode Island such as cobia, chub macs, triggerfish and Spanish mackerel.
