The Fisherman Magazine Weekend Video Forecast 7/28/2022 – New England
Ocean water temps have climbed into the low 70s after an extended heat wave in New England and the forecast shows that we’re due to enter a second stretch of oppressive heat this weekend. The local striped bass population has responded by moving away from the beaches to the cooler waters of the nearshore reefs of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Many anglers have found success trolling various lures around deep structure. Bonito have made landfall on The Vineyard this week while more and bigger schools of chub macks continue to show in Rhode Island and eastern Long Island Sound. Make sure to watch the CT portion of the report as well for the story of a nearly 30-pound fly-caught carp.
