Offshore Action Goes Code Red!

Offshore action really caught fire this week with bluefin south of Block, bigeye and yellowfin in the canyons and the BFT action east of the Cape
is being called ‘the best in 10 years!’ There have been numbers of bluefin inthe 40- to 60-inch class across the region, which has jig-and-pop addicts drooling. Southern Maine continues to see an amazing summer run of striped bass with some very impressive catches logged this week. Block Island is doing what Block Island does at this time of year: pumping out giant stripers. The best fluking has been along the stretch from Point Judith to Fishers Island with a noticeable improvement in sizes and the overall action for flatfish. And don’t forget that Connecticut sea bass season reopens this Saturday, July 8.
