Improved Montauk and South Shore Fluking
Tuna & Shark Activity Increases

Fluke fishing saw another bump in action in locations such as Montauk and along the South Shore of Long Island. The North Shore saw a slight decrease with the flatties but did see steady fishing for porgies and bluefish. Stripers could still be found in the Sound for those working the deeper rips. Sea bassing was decent in most areas but finding keepers with the newer 16-1/2 inch regulation made it a little tougher for bottom fishermen. Luckily, jumbo porgies made up for it. The offshore scene is starting to heat with yellow and bluefin tuna for those able to make the run to the Canyon while closer in, thresher shark fishing has been solid.
