Fluke has been slow to start and painfully inconsistent so far this year, but it looks like we might be heading for a change. We received our first doormat reports from Nantucket Shoals this week and we saw some catch increases in Long Island Sound on the New York side, in places like Port Jefferson and Northport, with any luck, these spots will represent the start of some more widespread fluke excitement. The assault of stripers continued its reign this week with big fish at the Vineyard, Newport, Block Island, Watch Hill and more. Additionally, scup and sea bass saw increases over the last seven days, as well. Get out there this weekend, and get “dear old dad” in on the action!
