Several herring runs are showing a good early push of alewives and the resident (holdover) stripers have taken notice as several tidal rivers and salt ponds have seen an uptick in striper activity this week. It’s also been a good week for freshwater bass guys, with the jerkbait leading the way. Trout stocking continues to justify angler efforts in Connecticut and Massachusetts, while Rhode-Islanders wait four more weeks to partake in the trout parade.
