More than 50 lakes, ponds, rivers and streams were stocked with trout over the last seven days between Connecticut and Massachusetts. This has led many anglers to the water where the trout have been biting well. With the introduction of all these trout has come increased largemouth bass action and with herring begging to climb some local runs, the bite is picking up quick. Holdover striped bass are also reacting to the influx of early alewives perking up a bite in many Rhode Island backwaters.
