Striped bass movement has been a little slower than what we’ve seen over the last few years, but things are plugging along. We’ve seen schoolie and slot bass in Narragansett Bay and linesiders to 30 pounds in western Long Island Sound. Further east, it’s mostly schoolies but the good news is that the schoolie action has now extended to the south shore of Boston. Togging closed with a bang in Connecticut, but is still going strong in Rhody. Freshwater action has been great; big smallies in Wachusett, excellent trout fishing on the Cape and some really nice largemouth bass after dark in Rhode Island, May is starting off strong!
