
Seems there’s been more rain than sun at the Jersey Shore since fluke season reopened this past Sunday, but another bout of rain on Friday the 9th we should see much better conditions for floundering around out back this Saturday and Sunday, May 10-11. We’ll run down the statewide reports on summer flounder in the first part of this week’s video fishing forecast, stopping in Cape May for a check on black drum and weakfish reports. Jenni’s got the blues this week on Open Boat and those choppers are in thick on the Navesink – could be a nice addition to the Dream Boat Fishing Challenge. Big striped bass are spread out now along the front beaches as the spring run is now full throttle; expect more big post-spawn Chesapeake fish to begin their bum rush off the beach just in time for StriperQuest ’25 on May 15, 2025. Bass on bunker? Sure, bluefin too in the Raritan Bay as of this past Friday!
