New England Video Fishing Forecast – May 13, 2021

The Fisherman Magazine Weekend Video Forecast 5/13/2021 – New England

In this week’s web fishing forecast, New England Editor Dave Anderson walks you through what’s going on around New England. Freshwater fishing has been left in the dust as several inshore species fill into local waters. Striped bass are being caught all the way to New Hampshire at this point, there are big bluefish throughout most of Rhode Island and fluke catches are on the rise at Block Island and behind Fishers Island as well. Striper guys will be interested to know that there’s a growing pile of schoolie and slot bass outside the west end of the Canal, reports of mackerel in the east end and squid inside the Big Ditch may be setting the stage for the first big hit of the season. If you want big blues, head to South County, RI where shore and boat anglers are cashing in scores of gator bluefish in the 10- to 15-pound class. The other big story is blackfishing, which has really exploded in Rhody with several double-digit tog reported and the bite in Buzzards Bay isn’t too far behind. It’s May in New England and the fishing is catching fire, don’t’ blink, you might miss out!
