Striper season is rolling in ahead of schedule in New England, a strong push of 20- to 36-inch stripers entered Narragansett Bay this week in a showing that mimicked the fall run. Bass were seen all over the surface, feeding heavily on small bait and crushing any small plug, plastic or fly that roughly matched the size of their forage. Tog fishing is also red hot in the Ocean State and is showing signs of rapid escalation in Massachusetts. Buoy checks across southern New England show water temps approaching or exceeding the magic 50-degree mark, the spring run is on!
