The period between storms featured some active fishing with several 10-plus-pound tog reported, pictured above is Eric Abrahamson with a 12.5-pounder weighed in at Fishin’ Factory 3. There was also a resurgence of albies; both in Nantucket Sound and in Rhode Island with some real tanks in the mix. Striper action has been a little slower to recover, at least for fish over 25 pounds, but there have been plenty of fish from schoolies to about 20 pounds patrolling the backwaters since the waves really kicked up. And if freshwater is more your speed, all three southern New England states have been busy stocking trout; Rhode Island DEM went on a tear stocking 24 ponds in 7 days… there’s a lot of fishing to be had out there this week!
