This week’s Fisherman video forecast is loaded with fall fishing excitement and local highlights! We’re gearing up for the Fred Golofaro Memorial South Shore Fishing Classic at Captree, along with the Oakdale Yacht Club Striper Cup and several other can’t-miss tournaments happening across the Island. Jenni breaks down how to travel light while surfcasting this fall, and Captain Al Lorenzetti shares stories from the days of wreck fishing before GPS. On the fishing front, the fall bite is rolling strong—striped bass are chewing hard along the South Shore beaches and inlets, with fish hitting swimmers, bucktails, and live eels after dark. Boat anglers are finding consistent action on diamond jigs and bunker spoons off the inlets, while blackfish reports are lighting up the North Shore and western Sound. Sea bass and porgies continue to fill coolers on the wrecks and rock piles, and albies are still popping up along the East End.
