Striper fishing seemed to find a new level of urgency this week, as reports from Maine to Rhode Island told of increased activity of both bait and bass. Hardtail hunters are starting to worry a little bit, as it seems that the albies are content to stay in Nantucket Sound. However, if you like sushi-grade eats, the bonito bite is the best we’ve seen in a long time and it’s not slowing down. South of Block Island, the bluefin bite rages on and some yellowfins have now joined the party. Bottom fishers are enjoying a bumper crop of codfish around Coxes Ledge and the tog action has been going strong in Massachusetts and Rhode Island
