A week-long Nor’easter gripped New England, rendering some places unfishable and kicking others into overdrive! Mullet were the accelerant from the lower-Cape through Rhode Island, as massive schools of these silvery, cigar-shaped baitfish flooded the surf zone. The result has been a week of exceptional surf fishing, with many anglers notching numbers in the hundreds during the storm. Also, the isolated zones where albie bites have been prevalent, held on through the blow, with good catches reported and even some new fish appearing along the South County beaches, could some of these fish find their way into eastern Long Island Sound?
