Grab your green crabs and file those jig hooks: the Jim’s Dock Blackfish Blowout returns October 3-4, 2026, for a weekend of hard-nosed togging, good eats, and community spirit. Whether you’re fishing from a center console, a skiff, or a kayak, the Blackfish Blowout means Rhody’s best toggers go toe-to-toe to duke it out for blackfish supremacy!
The action kicks off Friday, October 2, at 6 p.m. with a Captains Meeting at Jim’s Dock. On Saturday, anglers can fish from sunup to sundown, with the first weigh-in window closing at 4 p.m. Sunday brings a second weigh-in from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with last drops at noon. The weigh-in will transition into the awards ceremony and banquet, where attendees will also enjoy a large raffle.
Entry fees are $100 for adults (Fish & Food) or $50 for food only. Young anglers under 14 can join the fun for $25 (Fish & Food) or $10 for food only, with soft drinks included. Event merchandise, including $25 T-shirts and $50 sweatshirts, will be available on-site.
Best of all, 100% of all raffle proceeds go directly to support the Jonnycake Center.
To register, attend the Captains Meeting or contact Lindsay Spiewak (401-569-1009), Lona at Jim’s Dock (401-265-6795), or Dustin Stevens (404-791-3687). Follow @jimsdock.blackfish.blowout on Instagram for additional details.
