Peconic River Sportsman’s Club Continues Its Tradition Of Fundraising And Giving

The Peconic River Sportsman’s Club of Manorville, New York recently raised an additional $68,100 for breast cancer research, treatment, and support organizations.  The “Taking a Shot at Cancer” fundraiser brings the club’s overall donations to an astounding amount of over $400,000.  The primary recipients of these funds are: the Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition; Lucia’s Angels; and the North Fork Breast Cancer Coalition. Checks will be presented to these organizations at a luncheon ceremony on December 17, 2025 at the Peconic River Sportsman’s Club.

The Peconic River Sportsman’s Club is one of the oldest and most civic-minded sportsmen’s clubs in all of New York State. The club holds as a core value giving back to the Long island Community, specifically within the realm of critical fundraising events for noteworthy causes. One such activity is, “Taking a Shot at Cancer.”  Over the years, the club has raised and donated tens of thousands of dollars to many similar causes, and has donated over $400,000 to cancer-related organizations.  According to PRSC Vice president, Joe Hocker, “These organizations are doing outstanding work on Long Island, and we are pleased to be able to support them.” VP Hocker. Director, Ed Walden, Director Frank Laurita, Committee Chairs, Natalie Lugo and Warren Busch, along with Sporting Chairman, Sal Echel, comprised the “Taking a Shot at Cancer” event. A host of other club members donated their time to assure the event was a success.

The Peconic River Sportsman’s Club is a Long Island, New York-based organization with a sustained and rich history of promoting the values and traditions of participating in outdoor sports and recreation.
