SMITH POINT ACCESS EXTENDED TO INLET

Suffolk County Parks has extended the daytrip area at Smith Point from 2.0 miles to 2.5 miles. An entrance to Burma Road for angler access to Moriches Inlet will be provided at the eastern end of the daytrip area.

RECORD FLUKE CAUGHT IN CT

After a 14-pound fluke was landed on Long Island earlier in the week, a CT angler bests the catch with an impressive 14.85-pound doormat!

NOAA SEEKS COMMENT ON TUNA REGS

The comment period regarding Amendment 7 which would allocate part of the recreational quota to commercial longliners has been extended until January 10th, and angler feedback at this time is much-needed.

TAKE LIRR TO CAPTREE FISHING FLEET

Anglers coming from NYC, the five boroughs and Nassau County can now take the train to Captree State Park. The package is inexpensive and includes a half-day of fishing aboard the Captree fleet.

ZEBRA MUSSEL TRAINING IN CT

The CT DEEP is continuing to offer training for people interested in volunteering their time to monitor local boat launches for the presence of invasive plants and animals, such as zebra mussels.
