The first video fishing forecast of 2025 welcomes in new fishing goals and another year full of fishing to look forward to in the Long Island/Metro area. Last year went out strong for sea bassing with good catches reports from the deep South Shore wrecks. Jumbos up to 5 pounds were reported. Ling, red hake and large porgies were in the mix as well. Keep an eye out for upcoming winter cod trips also to beat the cabin fever. Some skin ice made the lakes tough to fish but the streams and rivers were producing white perch and trout for those braving the cold over the holiday week and giving it a go. Also take a look at this week’s video for a mandatory boating course update, an open boat special for the surfcasters and a sneak peek at an interview with our Dream Boat winner.
