12-PLUS POUND PECONIC FLUKE

We hope you were able to cash in on the good fishing before the winds kicked up over the holiday weekend. Weakfishing stayed solid in the Peconics with a decent bite in the Great South Bay. Stripers continued to chew in Jamaica while the North Shore had an excellent flutter spoon and jig bite along the shoals and rips. Better fluking also developed in front of central North Shore harbors. Montauk was consistent with bass again up to 35 pounds, and bluefish inundated the same body of water up to 16 pounds. Also, the first actual doormat of the year came up — a 12.84-pounder out of Peconic Bay.
