STRIPERS AND TOG HEADLINE WEEKEND ACTION

With temperatures bouncing back to comfortable levels to close out the week and continuing into the weekend, there should be plenty of opportunities to take advantage of some of the excellent blackfish and striper action taking place around the Island. Saturday’s forecast for 10-knot northwest winds and 2 to 3-foot seas sounds ideal for boatmen looking to get in some last licks before the cold and wind settles back in. Surfcasters are finding loads of school bass to 27 inches all along the South Shore with big numbers of fish falling to casters Tuesday and Wednesday on most beaches from Fire Island to Easthampton

Also this week, we have senior editor Fred Golofaro sharing a technique that will allow you to get the most out of the current late run of bass in the surf, while managing editor, Matt Broderick shares some of the finer points of working spook-style plugs.
