As the temperatures drop, big blackfish come out to play. We received multiple reports of double-digit ones to 15 pounds in the Western Sound this past week! The good bottom fishing should continue through the end of the month. The rest of the North Shore and eastern end of the island also had a healthy dose of togging throughout the week. Stripers continue to please anglers from Montauk rips to the West End of the island again with fish to 35 inches to the east and monsters to 45 pounds to the west. Keep in mind an open house event will be taking place at Steiger Craft boat factory in Bellport this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
