Coming off a windy week in the region, it was tough to get out of the slip or wet a line in most cases. We did see some encouraging reports for those who were able to sneak out when the wind laid down, though. Stripers are moving west still in waves and quickly, but we did hear about some striper activity on the eastern end of the island, so most fish are bound to make their way down the beach. The western end of the island is shining right now for striper activity, with catches of all-sized fish being reported. Tog are moving deeper in the Long Island Sound due to dropping water temperatures, but Montauk is seeing consistent reports of tog, sea bass, and the occasional codfish.
