Fall fishing continues to build across Long Island, with a solid mix of fluke, sea bass, porgies, bluefish and weakfish keeping anglers busy from the East End through the West End. There are still plenty of late-season opportunities inshore, while bottom fishing remains productive in several areas around the island. The big weather story this week is a nor’easter moving through the region. While the rough conditions may keep boats tied up for a bit, that hard push of wind and water could help shake things up and bring more striped bass into local waters as the fall migration gains momentum. Once conditions settle, anglers will be watching closely for improved bass action along the beaches, inlets and other traditional fall-run areas.
