Fluke fishing keeps getting a little better every week, with two key hotspots: the South County Beaches in Rhode Island and the “New York side” out in western Long Island Sound. Some of the best striper fishing we’re hearing about is happening along the coast of southern Maine, where locals are saying it’s been the best start to the striper season they’ve seen in a very long time. Sea bass action has remained steady in Buzzards Bay, but the Rhode Island inshore ledges are catching up quick. Speaking of sea bass, don’t forget that Connecticut waters will be closed to sea bass fishing from June 25 through July 7.
