The ASMFC has delivered an emergency verdict on striped bass, effectively cutting the slot limit in half, we have the details in this week’s video. Large stripers are showing up early this season and in good numbers with fish pushing 30 pounds up to the Canal, 40-pounders entering Narragansett Bay and the first wave of big fish leaving the Hudson River this week. We’re also hearing great tog reports from Rhode Island with a percolating fishery in Massachusetts. And don’t forget, fluke season is now open in Rhode Island and Connecticut.
