A cold and snow-covered start to the week leaves us relatively light on fishing reports this week. Still hearing of stripers off Cape May County and down DELMARVA as of this past weekend, and as we head into the Dec. 19-21 weekend with black sea bass, porgy, and tautog are still in play throughout the New Jersey, Delaware Bay region. Good news out of the Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council meetings this week with a 20% increase in black sea bass approved for ’26, while fluke is also status quo in the New Year meaning. There’s also good news in the January edition of The Fisherman Magazine on newsstands this week for Long Island’s Rashawn Williams and Dustin Stevens from New England, winners of the Dream Boat Fishing Challenge and Coastal Kayak Clash for ’25. Jenni has tautog tips from Capt. Tom Daffin of Fishin’ Fever, tools for reducing air exposure on striped bass to help improve health at release, and our weekly freshwater rundown from the Pocono Outdoors Guy.
