After the Memorial Day weekend washout, we’re looking at a better forecast for this final weekend of May, 2026. And we lead off that weekend video fishing forecast with a look at black drum on the beach, as far north as Staten Island now according to the latest reports. Lead off with the latest action in the region all tied back to the June edition of The Fisherman Magazine, which segues perfectly into an improving black sea bass fishery in the New Jersey, Delaware region and our Dream Boat Fishing Challenge.  We look into the bellies of our recent fluke catches – “match the hatch” – while strategize wind, weather and tide from the back bays for fluking to the offshore grounds with Canyon Runner.  New bluefin regs go into effect on Monday, June 1 – two to start from 27 to <73 inches (one from 47 to <73 inches) for angling category permit holders.  HMS Permit holders, check your email for the NOAA Fisheries alert.  We also have our weekly Canyon Runner intel for the offshore grounds, and the Pocono Outdoors Guy has advice on throwing crankbaits this week.
