A lot of local anglers have had November 16thcircled on their calendar for months now as the kickoff of New Jersey’s fall-into-winter blackfish season. The bag limit increases to five fish at 15 inches on Sunday which will carry through until December 31, dropping back down to four fish at 15 inches through the end of February. Black sea bass is also in play in the New Jersey, Delaware Bay region, along with porgy, but it’s striped bass that has a lot of folks running and gunning along the inshore grounds while surfcasters are anxiously awaiting the blitz conditions. In this week’s full report we look at some of the recent jumbos show up in our reports from Monmouth to Cape May County, with an eye on more offshore winds this weekend with a body of fish still feasting just across state lines to our north and east.
