Halloween weekend is traditionally considered the launch point of the fall striper run at the Jersey Shore, and on the backside of this past Monday’s full moon with westerlies in Friday’s forecast, it might just be time to make a little mischief by boat or beach. With bunker busting bass blitzes to the east along the South Shore of Long Island around Deb’s Inlet and Captree this week, many folks in Monmouth County are waiting for the heavy push of migratory stripers there; but leading off this week’s full video fishing forecast for the New Jersey, Delaware Bay region we put the spotlight on at least one jumbo land-based striper in Cape May County. Big news for Island Beach State Park surfcasters regarding beach buggy permits to kick things off, followed by a look at those westerlies and the latest striper reports. Black sea bass, tautog and porgy options are there, plus the final Canyon Runner offshore report for the season and our weekly update from the Pocono Outdoors Guy.
