FEBRUARY SEA BASS REMAINS CLOSED

New Jersey and Delaware anglers have not fished for black sea bass during the month of February since 2013; more to the point, they won’t be fishing for them in February of 2018 either.

While most Mid-Atlantic anglers are just happy knowing black sea bass will reopen again for 71 straight days starting October 22, fisheries managers may have better news this week in the form of a partial winter fishery in 2018.

MAFMC MEETS IN NEW YORK OCTOBER 10

From October 10-12 the Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council meets in Riverhead, NY where the topic of the Wave 1 winter black sea bass fishery is expected to be discussed, deliberated and quite possibly delivered for 2018.

OCT. 28 SPORTSMEN’S RALLY FOR KIM GUADAGNO

New Jersey sportsmen will rally behind New Jersey’s lieutenant governor, Kim Guadagno, on Saturday, October 28 starting at 2 p.m. in Point Pleasant Beach for her bid to become the state’s next governor.
