MORE TROUT FOR KIDS
This week, managing editor Matt Broderick responds to a reader’s question concerning the use of floating and slow sinking topwater poppers in the surf. Senior editor Fred Golofaro reminds us that with April come many more opportunities to wet a line. Lakes and ponds have received their first stocking of trout, and flounder and blackfish seasons open on April 1st. Striped bass season on the Hudson opens up on the 1st, while marine waters open on the 15th. The striper run is already underway in Raritan Bay, and schoolie bass are beginning to show around other parts of the Island for those looking for some catch and release action.
