WEAKFISH HIT THE CANAL – BROOKHAVEN TOWN ACCESS
This week, managing editor Matt Broderick talks improvements with Town of Brookhaven Councilwoman Jane Bonner, while senior editor Fred Golofaro provides an update on the local surf scene, including the influx of weakfish through the Shinnecock Canal. The weakfish bag limit remains at one fish with a minimum size of 16 inches. And beginning May 1, a number of open boats will be targeting the Peconic Bay porgy run, with fluke joining the fray a few days later. Fluke season opens on Tuesday, May 4.
