Long Island Video Fishing Forecast – August 1, 2024

The cobia run on the western South Shore of the island saw another good week of production with steady catches again of fish to over 40 pounds. Fluke fishing the South Shore bays was consistent with action and some quality fish in the mix. The bluefin tuna bite is regaining steam anywhere from Shinnecock going east to Montauk and Block anywhere from 10 to 20 miles south. A lot of the fish are in the 40 to 50-inch range while other groups of bluefin are in excess of 100 pounds. A good showing of weakfish has been chewing inside Peconic Bay as well to 22 inches.
