With the New Year also comes time to get or renew fishing permits for the upcoming season. Some, like the Caumsett State Park permit, require immediate attention since just 500 of these much sought after permits will be available online only beginning at 7 a.m. on January 4 on a first come – first serve basis. On the fishing front, New Year’s Eve Day marks the final day of the 2020 sea bass season, but cod, porgies, ling and pollock are all possibilities on offshore wreck trips. Closer to home, herring, white perch and trout are some of the options for wetting a line until spring arrives.
