The atmosphere felt like spring this past week with the warmer temperatures. As a matter of fact we have less than a month until the official first day of spring on March 20th. With that being said, the warmer temperatures did spark some more interest in local freshwater lakes, streams and rivers. Connetquot was bust over the weekend with good reports coming from it. Some lakes reports came in as well, showing signs of productivity. A cod trip went off with some keepers caught. For events, keep in mind the largest on the island is taking place this Saturday at Ward Melville High School. The fishing club will be hosting their annual fishing event and fundraiser.
