While a few attempts at hitting the cod grounds were made, it was tough fishing due to the weather once again. Icy temperatures and high winds have made fishing a tough venture during the past week. Connetquot remained open for trout fishing but that was about it for fishable areas. The one thing to embrace is the potential for some ice fishing once the lakes are safe enough and the wind drops out a bit more. Keep in mind that if you can find open tidal waters, white perch are another great option this time of the year and in this week’s video we go over some tips for targeting them.
