WEATHER AND FISHING IMPROVE – GETTING READY FOR STRIPERS
This winter has been a tough one for open boats and anglers looking to get offshore for cod, pollock, ling and porgies, but this past week provided some hope that the weather and the fishing may be turning in our favor. Senior editor Fred Golofaro has an update on the saltwater scene, and a reminder that largemouth bass are still in play, and trout stocking is just around the corner. Meanwhile, managing editor Matt Broderick offers up a checklist on preparing for the upcoming striped bass season, which opens on April 1 on the Hudson and April 15 in the Marine District.
