FIRST ROUND OF TROUT STOCKINGS-STRIPER RUMBLINGS

Spring has struck and with that came the first wave of trout stockings in the area. These stockings were supposed to take place last week but were delayed due to upstate snow, and that’s where the trout came from. So far, the central Long Island lakes have received a round of rainbows and browns, but the western Suffolk and Nassau water bodies are expected to get their first round sometime next week too. We also got some confirmed striper reports from the city area and rumors of others from the North Shore Harbors. For the events, don’t forget this weekend is the annual Fly Fishing Expo at the Radisson Hotel on Motor Parkway. If you enjoy fly fishing or want to get into it, this is a must-attend event. Also, take note that we received some incorrect information last week. The correct date for the Family Fishing Festival is going to be the 15th of April at Belmont State Park.
