Remember those fall albies we know and love? Well, they finally made a late-inning showing in Montauk, and big ones on top of that, too! Waves of stripers are still chugging down the beach from Montauk to Breezy Point, and fish of mixed sizes are being caught. Both surf fishermen and boaters are getting in on the action. The bass have been concentrating around bunker and sand eel schools. Togging has been hot in the Sound from the shore out to about 50 feet deep, with fish and 11 pounds caught during the last week.
