Tog to 16.5 Pounds & Tuna Right off the Beach on the South Shore
It’s been an exciting week for fishing around Long Island. We got reports of tog up to 16.5 pounds out of Montauk, bluefin right off the South Shore in 30 feet of water anywhere from Shinnecock to Fire Island, and fantastic striper fishing once again from Moriches all the way to the city. Some large bluefish are also mixed in with the stripers. Albies have also been reported from the western and eastern Sound still. A couple of events are taking place this weekend as well. Steiger Craft will be hosting an open house on Saturday with great deals on their boats — we’ll be present. The Fisherman will also have a booth at the Montauk Surfcasters Association, which will take place Saturday morning into the afternoon. Visit thefisherman.com/events for more details.
