Turkey & Tog: Happy Thanksgiving!

Last week’s savage striper bite on the western portion of Long Island continued over the weekend and through the week. Some action took place outside Moriches, but the western inlets certainly saw the better of it regarding size and consistency. On the opposite side of the island, in the western Sound, bass action didn’t lack either, with fish flooded inside of Hempstead Harbor. Some big bluefish were also reported on the inside, weighing up to 13 pounds. Tog leads the way out east on the usual bottom grounds south of Montauk and near Block. Fishers and the Plum Island area also saw a good pick of fish in 60 to 90 feet. Sea bass complimented the tog towards Montauk with a few codfish in the mix.
