North Shore Tog Opens (South Shore on the 15th) & Wild Tuna Fishing Last Week

The year-long awaited fall tog season is here! North Shore fishing for them officially opened yesterday, and the South Shore (NY Bight) opens on Sunday the 15th. Good catches were already reported from the north side of the island, and the south should only follow suit. Encouraging surf striper reports also emerged from the Fire Island Inlet area on the inside and along the barrier beaches. The tuna bite didn’t lack either. Wild reports of bluefin up to 100 pounds on both the chunk and jig came from the Bacardi and the Suffolk. Also, for those interested in a boat purchase, keep in mind this weekend is the open house for Suffolk Marine and East Shore Marine.
