North Shore – 11th
South Shore – 15th

It’s an exciting week to be fishing in the Long Island and Metro area. Striper fishing is superb right now along the entire South Shore and all the way out east to Montauk. The North Shore is seeing no lack of stripers either from the western reaches out to Orient. Mixed in along the ocean are albies and the occasional shark too on bunker pods. The other big news for the week is the opener(s) for blackfish. The North Shore fishery opened on the 11th and the NY Bight (South Shore) opens on the 15th. Size limits are 16 inches for each area but the North Shore has a three fish bag limit while in the Bight you can keep four.
