The one great thing about a sand eel striper run is that the fish stick around for an extended period of time in the same general locations and that’s just what has been going on this fall run! Stripers feeding along the South Shore beaches ruled again over the last week with good morning, evening and night fishing opportunities anywhere from the Hamptons to the western reaches of the island. Montauk didn’t slack either from the boat or surf with casters seeing solid shots of fish in close and boaters absolutely crushing the bass in the rips local to the point. Tog fishing has been extremely productive as well along the entire rocky North Shore and out of Montauk. Some quality sea bass reports have been coming from the end of the islands as well. We’re right in the middle of some of the best fishing of the year and the Indian summer were having is making the fishing all the more enjoyable. Go out there and get them!
