Surfcasting Tournament This Weekend
Exceptional Togging All Over
Blackfish, stripers, and giant tuna made their way into the reports during the week. Of course tog led the way with the great catches around the island. Striper fishing continued to be solid through the week along the South Shore. The North Shore didn’t slack either and has been seeing some bluefish showing up in the harbors up to 18 pounds with stripers mixed in as. Some larger sea bass made a showing along the North Fork and in Montauk and also in Montauk we got in word of giant tuna within accessible striking distance feeding on bunker and mackerel. Keep in mind this weekend is the Fred Golofaro Memorial South Shore Classic hosted by Captree Bait and Tackle and sponsored by The Fisherman Magazine and State Parks. See this week’s video report for more information.
