Fluke to 14 Pounds – Upcoming Tournaments

This week we give you a rundown of the tournaments in the near future for the area. Also keep in mind this weekend is the Fred Golofaro Memorial Montauk Classic. The event runs from Friday through Sunday. Aside from the upcoming events, the fishing has been hot in the bays around the island still due to the amount of bait staging in the them. Fluking in particular has stood out along the South Shore of the island with catches up to 14 pounds this week! Keepers have been extremely common too for private and charter boats . Stripers and bluefish are starting to appear near the major inlets and bottom fishing near the wrecks and reefs is still producing porgies and sea bass.
